Believe it or not, this is a screened porch. The couch, by the way, it's weather proof. The dining table is made from 3" thick poplar slabs that have been waxed and polished to keep its warmth and beauty despite the outdoor air and sweaty glasses of iced tea. Of course, the porch, as with all Porch Company porches, is designed to function in the Nashville climate. Floors are sloped, ceilings are vaulted, fans are numerous and the screens keep out the mosquitoes. Our client turned this simple porch into an outdoor haven by using soft colors, an old wicker chair, wooden bowls filled with shiny green apples and graceful sconces casting warm shadows on cool evenings.
